ISLAMABAD, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan has recorded its first case of monkeypox in the country, the Pakistani health ministry said on Tuesday afternoon.
The National Institute of Health confirmed the detection on Monday, the ministry said in a statement.
Following the detection of the case, all the airports in the South Asian country are now implementing the health regulatory guidelines issued by the health authorities, the ministry said, adding that the Border Health Services Pakistan is monitoring the whole situation.
"All necessary measures have been ensured to save the public from diseases and epidemics," said the health ministry.
